Good News Or Bad News – And The Difference Is?

Has anyone ever told you the bad news? And the good news? What is the difference or is there a difference?

Good news – things or information that make us happy, satisfied, soothing, protected and confirmed.

Bad news is the opposite.

So there seems to be a difference between good news and bad news – keep reading.

Have you ever received bad news, but everything went well or better than expected? Have you ever received good news, and what you thought was good news stopped being so good over time?

From personal experience, I can say that I have experienced all four

Good news, it was good.

Bad news, it was bad.

Good news that I found good but ultimately bad.

Bad news that I found bad and ultimately good.

Not confused yet? Well, I know that over time, I’ve often been confused by the difference between these two seemingly opposite messages. But I learned that sometimes bad news for one person can be seen as good for another, and good news over time can be seen as bad for a person.

Embarrassed? Let me explain.

After all, it’s just news, and what makes it bad, good, or even neutral is not the news itself, but how we see, evaluate, evaluate, or react to it.

You may ask, how can you perceive bad news as good news? Or, on the contrary, how can we consider good news to be bad news?

In short, each of us has unique stories, experiences, beliefs, and values, and as a result, none of us ever sees the same or the same circumstances the same.

Anyone who is concerned, tuned negatively, pessimistic or impatient may find the delay as bad as someone who understands the concept that there are things we can control, and that there are things we cannot control. So why worry about the fact that you can’t control or if you’re busy.

After all, everything that happens just happens – and we interpret everything in accordance with our expectations, goals, needs or thinking, and it’s all unique to each of us.

Before starting my career in speaking and training, I was a national sales manager for an international organization. It’s a long story, but the short side is that I had a problem with my boss, the president, and that’s why he fired me. Bad news, right? Well, that’s all I need to decide that it’s time to start a career that lasted more than 40 years and allowed me to see the world (at the moment 25 countries) and work with great clients and audiences. So, in the end, this bad news turned out to be really good.

Here’s another quick one.

A few years ago, I proposed to my wife, and she said yes. Good news, right? (Please no judgment). After more than fifteen years of trying, I eventually decided that it was time to put an end to this, and why? Well, without the terrible details of the relationship gradually undermined my self-esteem, my self-confidence and my optimistic mood, and I decided that I didn’t like what I was becoming in this relationship. We broke up together, but we broke up. Good news, because over time I was able to get back everything I lost emotionally and spiritually.

We all have our own stories, and we can all make lists of good and bad news we’ve received, but at the end of the day, it’s just news.

In some of my corporate programs, I share this simple concept – stop asking your employees about good or bad news – just ask them and you decide what it is. Because their definition may be completely different from yours.

Conversely – because the manager or manager does not broadcast – I have good or bad news – just tell your employees that you have something new, and let each of them interpret it as he sees fit. personal views, experiences, expectations and how it can affect them personally.

I want to make it clear here that I am not talking about denial, surrender, acceptance or apathy – just about being willing to see what might be the other side of the story that you may be missing because of your history, opinions, opinions, statements, etc.
